A 23-year-old woman, Blessing Fred has been accused of stabbing her
7-year-old son after he removed the pant of their neighbour’s 5-year-old
daughter and touched her private part.
The accused, a stylist, who lives at Tunde Olushola street, Ijaiye, in
Lagos was arraigned before an Ikeja magistrate court on a two-count
charge of assault and grievous harm, Vanguard reports.
Adressing the court, the prosecutor, Inspector Racheal Williams, said the offences were committed on July 13, at the residence of the accused. According to Williams, the accused had gotten a complaint from her neighbor that her 7-year-old son had dragged her 5-year-old daughter inside the room, removed her pants and touched her private part.

In anger, she acted on what her neighbor had told her. She was said to
have given her son the beating of his life and then stabbed him at the
back with a broken bottle.
“If not for the intervention of neighbours who rushed the victim to a
nearby hospital, he would have died as a result of bleeding from the
wound,” the prosecutor said.
Fred pleaded guilty to the charges against her.
Presiding over the case, the Chief Magistrate, Mr Tajudeen Elias ordered
for the accused to be remanded at Kirikiri prison and adjourned the
case till Sept. 23 for sentencing
